Situation

DiaSorin is a global leader in the laboratory diagnostics market, specializing in the immunodiagnostics and molecular diagnostics segments. For over 50 years they have been developing, producing and commercializing reliable, innovative, fully automated and standardized diagnostic tests.

DiaSorin Australia approached us to build an online training and education platform in the style of a modern video streaming platform. They had some old training material on various official platforms, but wanted a central hub to educate and engage with their customers.

The company’s goal was to create an additional tool to enable laboratory scientists and technicians to consume continual educational content, but also be engaging for the next generation to come.

Solution

DiaSorin selected Innoweb as their partner to build a bespoke educational platform, designed on pay TV streaming principles, called DiaSorin TV. This service enhances videos, audio and PDF content in a way designed to be highly accessible and familiar to its account holders.

Based on Silverstripe CMS, we built a highly versatile solution that caters to DiaSorin’s specific needs. The user friendliness of the Silverstripe CMS makes it easy for content authors to manage and publish new content.

DiaSorin TV provides a solution for DiaSorin Australia to have a centralised location to host and share their educational videos and webinars, that may have otherwise been lost, or not easy to find.

With different permission levels, users can be divided into different groups, giving them access to general use content, or more specific, certified trained only materials.

Users of the platform can easily find content in their desired discipline and explore new topics that go beyond their typical area of interest or expertise. They can subscribe to topics they are interested in and get notified if there is new content matching their interests.

In addition, DiaSorin TV provides an additional tool for scientists and lab technicians to maintain their continuous education requirements by exporting and sharing a list of consumed content in an auditable manner.
