10 Years of Innoweb: Thank you

It's been 10 years since I started my adventure of building Silverstripe websites in Australia.

It has been an interesting decade, to say the least. We had 5 prime ministers, a once in a century drought, record floods, a crazy property market, Donald Trump as President of the United States, and to finish it off COVID-19.

For me, it has been a good time. Challenging at times, of course. It hasn't been easy to get a foothold in the Australian market and build my own business. But it has been worth it, thanks to my loyal and supportive clients. In fact, my very first Australian clients, Castlegate Dental and BAC Systems are still with me today, as are many other long time clients.

Apart from direct clients, I have also worked with several design and marketing agencies as a white label Silverstripe development partner. These partnerships have given me the opportunity to work for large organisations, collaborating with big teams on complex solutions.

Over time I have taken on several contractors to cover different aspects of building websites like design, SEO, marketing and development. This has allowed me to scale up the team on a need basis without the overhead and pressure of employing people full time.

I have never regretted my decision to use Silverstripe as my CMS of choice. When I started with Silverstripe, version 2.3 was still a thing and I used the Silverstripe book as a reference. When Silverstripe 2.4 came out, I was excited about all the new features and improvements. Of course, Silverstripe has come a long way since then. Versions 3.0 and 3.1 gave it a more modern touch and a lot more flexibility. 3.2 introduced Semantic Versioning which made upgrades a lot easier and more reliable. And now with Silverstripe 4, we have a mature and modern tool to build pretty much anything we like. To me, it still is the most flexible, most user-friendly and most reliable CMS that exists.

To celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we have updated our branding with a new logo and a new website. I hope you like it as much as I do.
